Divisions — Viessman Trucking

Our Divisions

Cliff Viessman, Inc. (CVI) has grown over the years to include ten terminals and a Corporate Office. These locations are spread out among six states. CVI also has many different divisions running in different areas of the country. The majority of CVI's terminals are in the Midwest, but current growth has helped expand operations to other parts of the country. Even with the terminals located in the Midwest, drivers still have the ability to cross the entire United States and Canada.

CVI hauls a variety of tanker products, most of which are food grade. CVI's primary commodities are Liquid Corn Sweetener, Liquid Sugar, Food Grade Oils, and Dairy products. CVI has six terminals that primarily handle liquid sweeteners. These are located in Cedar Rapids, IA, Columbus, NE, Dayton, OH, Marshall, MN, Renville, MN, and Wahpeton, ND. Many of the loads place our trucks all over the country. This provides opportunities to service customers nationwide.

Cliff Viessman, Inc. has been involved in the reefer industry for many years. This was the first venture outside the realm of milk route trucks. CVI has two terminals dedicated to temp-controlled freight. They are Dawson, MN and Paynesville, MN. Dairy products are the major commodities hauled out of these two terminals with general freight being hauled back into the area. Our primary service area includes the Central and Midwest portions of the country.

Live Bottom

The Marshall, MN and Columbus, NE terminals are positioned near corn processing plants. One of the by-products from the processing of corn into sweeteners or ethanol is feed. This feed is used primarily as a feed additive for livestock. The product is hauled in a live bottom trailer. The trailer utilizes a belt/chain combination to unload the feed out the rear of the trailer. This equipment also allows CVI the opportunity to haul other grain commodities. CVI has a number of trucks hauling this product at each of these terminals. Many of the trucks are run 24 hours a day which allows day or night shifts for drivers. All feed trucks are day cabs, which places drivers at home daily.

CVI's pneumatic division hauls dry food grade products. Sugar and cornstarch are the two most common products hauled. The trucks that are involved in the sugar division are based out of Renville, MN, however, they also haul out of other facilities throughout the midwest. The trucks that are hauling cornstarch are based in Marshall, MN and Columbus, NE. The pneumatic division does a combination of short and long haul movements.

Dawson, MN has a division where they haul dry feed with auger trailers. This division hauls feed to local poultry barns. These trucks are run 24 hours a day which allows multiple driving shifts to meet any drivers or customers needs.
