Live Bottom

The Marshall, MN and Columbus, NE terminals are positioned near corn processing plants. One of the by-products from the processing of corn into sweeteners or ethanol is feed. This feed is used primarily as a feed additive for livestock. The product is hauled in a live bottom trailer.  The trailer utilizes a belt/chain combination to unload the feed out the rear of the trailer.  This equipment also allows CVI the opportunity to haul other grain commodities.  CVI has a number of trucks hauling this product at each of these terminals. Many of the trucks are run 24 hours a day which allows day or night shifts for drivers.  All feed trucks are day cabs, which places drivers at home daily.
